Best Version to Get

The base Light RWD and Light Long Range RWD are the least-expensive ways to get into an EV9, but they are a little “light” on power, with 215- and 201 hp, respectively. The Light Long Range RWD has the benefit of an EPA-estimated 304-mile driving range.

We think the third-tier Wind is likely the best choice for most people, as it comes standard with all-wheel drive, has an ample 379 hp, and its long-range battery gives it an EPA-estimated 280-mile driving range. The Wind adds a heated steering wheel, dual sunroofs, and a range-preserving heat pump over the Light trim just below it.

Stepping up to the fourth-tier Land AWD brings a more feature-filled driver’s seat with four-way lumbar adjustment (instead of two-way) and a power-operated thigh-extender. It also has a power steering wheel, heated and ventilated second-row seats, quilted seat trim, second-row sunshades, sound-absorbing rear-window glass, a surround-view camera system, and an upgraded 14-speaker audio system (vs. 8 speakers).

Keep in mind that the Light Long Range RWD, and the top Land and GT-Line trims, come only in a six-passenger seating configuration.
