Pros

  • Quick acceleration
  • Agile handling
  • Sharp steering
  • Short dry stopping distance

Cons

  • Some quirky controls
  • Unintuitive gear selector
  • Stiff ride with the large 21-inch wheels included on higher trims
  • Poor adaptive cruise control performance

Best Version to Get

We’d go for the second-tier Turbo Preferred trim as it's the highest trim that still comes with the smaller 19-inch wheels rather than the larger 21-inch wheels—which we found to hurt ride comfort. It also comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with a wireless phone charger and a 12.3-inch touchscreen. If towing is important to you, you can step up to the third-tier Turbo Premium Sport trim which offers a more stout 5,000-pound towing capacity compared to 3,500 pounds for the base and second-tier trims. Unfortunately, you can only get the Turbo Premium Sport with 21-inch wheels, but it does add a head-up display. Opting for the seven-passenger version (rather than eight) brings more comfortable second-row captain’s chairs, but it means a fifth occupant will always be relegated to the tight third row.

About Consumer Reports

Consumer Reports puts people first. For more than 80 years, CR has provided consumers with independent research, ratings and recommendations to help make good purchase decisions. As a nonprofit consumer testing and advocacy organization, CR works with businesses and government to improve the safety, performance, value and reliability of products and services.

Every year CR puts manufacturer claims to the test for thousands of products, from cars and appliances to baby products and sunscreens. CR purchases all the products that we test and uses scientific research methods to develop our ratings.
